Over the past couple of days I've been watching dev vlogs again, such as devduck. And saw he was changing game engine for his dulphin project. Go check it out, the game looks really cool, I'm looking forward to playing once it's finished. So yeah where was I? Oh yeah, so recently he changed from Unity to Godot. Which really intrigued me, mainly because I've never heard of the engine before. But I looked into it and now i've realised how amazing the engine is for indie development.
Couple of days ago, I've been researching and familiarising myself with the engine, apparently it's quite similar to game maker? Anyhow, I began to favor this engine recently especially over Unity, mainly because it's very open source. Also not forgetting the fact it's very easy to use and user friendly.
After some brain storming, I came up with an idea; An idea that I felt very confident about. Which is rare for me as one of my weaknesses as a game developer is well, I give up to easy on solo projects. I think this is due to scope and not knowing enough about unity's engine. I did study unity for 2 years at college, but it's been a long time since I used it due to my degree requires to use Unreal Engine 4 for most projects. Nevertheless, I'm happy to announce that I'm currently in development of Industriopia. A game about strategy, micromanagement and you guessed it industries!
